Integrative Psychiatry

integrative psychiatryIntegrative psychiatry at Recovery Without Walls is directed by Inna Zelikman, a nationally certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. She has over 20 years of experience in the treatment of mental health and substance use disorders. She is trained in functional medicine and somatic psychotherapy, and has also received Certificates of Completion from both the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) – MDMA Therapy Training Program and the Internal Family Systems (IFS) Institute.

Integrative psychiatry at Recovery Without Walls introduces a new model of mental health care that’s based on a holistic, personalized, and collaborative treatment approach. Our treatment methods will help you achieve an optimal state of recovery that is sustainable long-term.

There is a growing need for treatment that addresses every aspect of a client’s life: their mental, physical, and spiritual well-being. Despite the prevalence of common pharmacological interventions, the United States has experienced a rapid decline in mental health. Many clients find themselves frustrated—many experience limited relief from symptoms treated with traditional medications.

We are committed to improving your quality of life by optimizing neuropharmacology that may be unaddressed by your current medications. Our treatment approach emphasizes ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, nutritional strategies, dietary supplements and lifestyle interventions. We use psychotherapy and mindfulness to address emotional distress and underlying trauma.

We currently offer ketamine-assisted psychotherapy to facilitate a deeper level of healing of unresolved trauma, treatment-resistant depression, and substance use.

Our Integrative Approach

Our integrative psychiatric services are rooted in a holistic model of mental health care. We evaluate each client’s level of functioning in five key dimensions: physical, psychological, emotional, social, and spiritual. This helps us to accurately determine their current condition, understand their level of resilience, and account for any environmental factors that may impact their healing. We then select the suite of treatments that will facilitate that person’s swift, sustainable recovery.

Cutting-Edge Methods

The Recovery Without Walls team monitors breakthroughs, effective techniques, and new findings in the fields of psychiatry, psychology, and psychedelic therapy. We combine time-tested modalities with alternative therapies to fully address our clients’ needs.

Seamless Coordination of Care

Thanks to a collaborative, team-based approach, our practice is equipped to handle complex cases. We work closely with one another and liaise with other Mill Valley healthcare practitioners, ensuring that our services provide the greatest possible relief from depression, addiction, chronic pain, and related conditions. Our partnerships include psychotherapists, marriage and family therapists, nutritionists, and integrative health practitioners specializing in acupuncture, bodywork, breathwork, and meditation.

Psychiatric Intervention

We help clients safely and gradually discontinue the use of psychiatric medications they have used for a long time, including Adderall, amphetamines, SSRIs, and high-dose antipsychotics. Our team closely monitors clients as they taper off or replace these prescriptions. We strongly support non-pharmacological approaches to resiliency, emotional regulation, and pain management. The Recovery Without Walls method is backed by years of successful outcomes.
