Andrew Kornfeld, B.A., B.S.
Andrew is a graduate of the University of California at Santa Cruz, where he studied both Neuroscience and Psychology. At UCSC, Andrew received the award of Special Achievement from the Department of Psychology and the Dean’s Award in Undergraduate Education.
At Recovery Without Walls, Andrew works as a practice consultant. He previously worked on the RWW team as Director of New Patient Services, and has co-authored papers with his father, Dr. Howard Kornfeld. From time to time, he acts as a peer mentor to our younger patients, often teaching surfing as part of an individualized treatment plan.
Andrew’s interests in brain science and psychopharmacology complement his work at Recovery Without Walls. He recently co-authored one chapter in the Handbook on Transpersonal Psychology (published by Wiley) and wrote his undergraduate thesis on the neuroscience of psychological trauma and novel treatments. In his free time, Andrew enjoys surfing, mountain biking, and cooking fine food.
